In Porto, the bathing season usually starts in mid-June. However, if you want to take a dip in Portugal’s largest wave pool, you can do so from May 31st. Praia das Rocas, located in the heart of Castanheira de Pera, is the perfect place to spread out your towel in the sun.
Located about 175 km away, less than 2 hours’ drive from Porto, Praia das Rocas is distinguished by its lake, almost 1 km long, and the existence of an island in the center adorned with palm trees. This scenery combined with the bucolic beauty of the Serra da Lousã make this a special place.
