After announcing the presence of Thirty Seconds to Mars, the organizers of the MEO Marés Vivas festival have just announced another name for the 2025 edition: the famous Scorpions.
With a career spanning nearly 60 years, the veteran German rock group will take to the stage on the first day of the festival, July 18. The confirmation was made this Monday, November 4, and promises to leave fans in an uproar.
This one’s for the real rock fans! Scorpions, one of the most successful bands of the 80s and 90s, will perform on July 18 at MEO Marés Vivas! You still know all the lyrics”, reads the festival’s official Instagram page.
Scorpions: one of rock’s biggest names
With a very special connection to the Portuguese public, the Scorpions return after having performed in Braga in 2023 and at Rock in Rio Lisboa this year.
The German band is a serious case of longevity in the music world, surviving the passage of time with intergenerationalhits. In fact, to tell the story of the group, you have to go back to the 1960s, when they were taking their first steps.
At the time, the young Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker were far from imagining the impact they would have on European rock and beyond. From the streets of Hannover to world tours, the Scorpions left their mark on the music world.
Famous for ballads such as “Still Loving You”, “Wind Of Change” or “Send Me An Angel”, the truth is that their discography is far from limited to romance.
Their career has included many hits and, in particular, their 70s rock albums deserve a place in any collection of pure vinyl record aficionados.
Today, the band is also notable for the presence of a very special musician – Mikkey Dee, former drummer of the legendary Motörhead. Do you still remember the songs?
