Vinyl is back and has already won over many followers, some who have converted to this way of listening to music, others who have never abandoned it. What is certain is that this trend is back and seems to be here to stay and, fortunately, the growth of the Porto is following suit and there is no shortage of (good) record stores for vinyl lovers.
That’s why, if you have a stereo at home and want to renew your collection, or if you’ve bought a new record player and want to try it out to the sound of your favorite albums, discover these stores in Porto (and the surrounding area) and go visit them.

1 – Scrape Needle
This store is especially perfect for lovers of more alternative music genres. But, of course, you can still find several options.
Scrape Needle sells mostly new records, but also some used ones. Post-rock, stoner rock and doom metal are some of the styles represented, among others.

2 – Tubitek
It is one of the most iconic record stores in the city and is located in Praça D. João I. It was founded in the 1980s and has been providing vinyl lovers with the best music for over two decades (after a break).

3 – Louie Louie
It’s in Rua do Almada and this physical space has existed since 2004. From new albums to second-hand items, the catalog is extensive and you can find them in the physical store or online .

4 – Porto Calling
Located right in the heart of Invicta, this store opened in 2012 and has been offering new and used records to Porto’s vinyl lovers ever since. Here you’ll find the most varied musical genres, from Brazilian music to Hip Hop, Folk, Punk, Jazz or Indie.

5 – Muzak Vinyl Records
If you’re anywhere near Rua de Santo Ildefonso, pay a visit to this record store. It opened its doors in 2000 and has been offering a wide selection of vinyl records and CDs ever since.
This store is a reference point for both professionals and amateur music lovers.

More than a record store, this is where you breathe music. This store, in Rua Ramalho Ortigão, doesn ‘t just sell records, but goes further, associating other arts with music (such as reading music-related publications or gatherings, for example, at least in normal times).

7 – Discos do Baú
This store, in Rua da Torrinha, right in the center of Porto, has a vast collection of records of all musical styles. It also sells other accessories associated with vinyl, such as record players and vinyl protection bags .

8 – Piranha
This record store is perfect for lovers of heavier genres. From metal to prog, not forgetting grunge and punk, or even goth, there’s a bit of everything for metalheads in Porto.
In addition, Piranha sells new records, but also used ones, either in the physical store or online.

9 – Circus Records Shop
This suggestion is especially suitable for those who enjoy undergroundmusic. The store has a weekly selection of records and is also an option for buying/exchanging used vinyl.
