One of the biggest pilgrimages in the North is preparing to ‘invade’ the city of Matosinhos, in Greater Porto, with lots of entertainment. For three weeks, from May 23 to June 15, the secular feast of the Lord of Matosinhos promises to be synonymous with music, entertainment, tradition, gastronomy and much more.
This year, the line-up recently released by Matosinhos Town Hall stands out for its strong commitment to renowned artists, such as Matias Damásio, Richie Campbell, Dino d’Santiago and José Pinhal Post-Mortem Experience. Shall we take a look at the program?
Key moments of Senhor de Matosinhos
Before we present some of the concert dates, we want to highlight other moments of the pilgrimage, which is now over 700 years old.
One of the main attractions is the traditional procession of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos, which takes place on June 8 at 4pm.
At this time of year, the Church of Bom Jesus de Matosinhos is filled with beautiful flowers, which can be enjoyed by the public.
Another must-see is the spectacular fireworks display, scheduled for June 7 at midnight.
