August is synonymous with the beach, heat, vacations and outdoor activities. But for those who haven’t had the chance to travel yet, or who are staying in Greater Porto, it’s always worth enjoying a few moments of relaxation, whether alone or accompanied, on rooftops.
After reporting on the appearance of The Social Hub Porto terrace, in the heart of Invicta, it’s now time to introduce a new space: the Sky Bar Kopke, in Vila Nova de Gaia. Located at the top of the five-star Tivoli Kopke Porto Gaia Hotel, this is the latest summer spot.
Breathtaking views of Porto and the Douro
As mentioned above, the Sky Bar Kopke is located in Vila Nova de Gaia, right on the banks of the River Douro, facing the city of Porto and just a few steps away from some of the most emblematic wine cellars. There, the breathtaking views take center stage, but so do the signature cocktails.
With options from lunch to sunset, the menu includes, for example, some daring proposals such as fresh oysters and caviar served with blinis, or sea bass ceviche and beef carpaccio, among others.
Cocktails in the starring role
To toast to life and the breathtaking view, Sky Bar Kopke has a number of cocktails on offer, such as:
- Kopke Port (with wine)
- The exotic Fig Royale
- Serra do Pilar (which surprises with Kopke Port Dry, nori cherry and a touch of lavender), among others.
It should also be noted that, in addition to the signature creations that pay homage to the Greater Porto region, the menu at this new rooftop stands out for the heritage of Kopke, one of the most iconic and oldest Port wine houses.

Located in Rua do Barão de Forrester (number 69), the new rooftop in Grande Porto is open every day from 12:30 p.m. to midnight.
