Summer is fast approaching its end, but that doesn’t stop you from making the most of the little that’s left. In fact, just in time for the last dips, a new attraction has just opened for fans of refreshing places: the Quinta do Passal Swimming Pool.
Located in the parish of Campo, in the municipality of Valongo, just a few minutes’ drive from Porto, the Quinta do Passal Swimming Pool was inaugurated on August 22 and is now in full operation, with a capacity to accommodate 500 people. But let’s get to know them a little better, shall we?

To give you a better idea of the size of these outdoor pools, here are some figures, quoted by Jornal de Notícias:
- Investment of 1.5 million euros
- Area of 5500 square meters
- Capacity to accommodate 500 people at the same time
What will you find there?
In addition to the staggering numbers, it’s important to know that this space has various infrastructures and services, such as:
- Two swimming pools (one of them for children)
- Lawn area
- Cafeteria area
- Changing rooms
- Medical center
- Area for sun loungers and parasols
- Surveillance, among other facilities.

Other useful information
The newest outdoor pools in Greater Porto are open every day from 9.30am to 8pm. However, you can choose to enjoy the space only during half a day, from 2pm to 8pm.
If you want to visit Quinta do Passal later this summer, you should know that the current prices are as follows:
- Full day: week – from 4 to 13 years old – €3.05; from 14 years old – €5.10; weekend – from 4 to 13 years old – €4.10; from 14 years old – €5.10
- From 2pm: weekdays – from 4 to 13 years old – €2.05; from 14 years old – €3.05;weekends – from 4 to 13 years old – €3.05; from 14 years old – €4.10
- Free admission for children under 3
