In Invicta, the Porto Book Fair promises to delight those who can’t live without a good read. However, there’s another event to take into account, especially for the sweet tooth – the 25th Cozinha à Portuguesa – Vila do Conde Gastronomy Fair.
From August 22 to 31, the gardens of Avenida Júlio Graça will host some of the best national flavors, from the islands to the Alentejo, including the Algarve, Minho and Trás-os-Montes.
In a statement sent to Porto Secreto, the organization informs that the initiative will be attended by Master Baker Elisabete Ferreira, elected Best Baker in the World in 2024, and several Michelin chefs.

What will you find at the Gastronomy Fair?
With more than 70 stalls spread around the grounds, with free access, you can find a variety of typical Portuguese products, such as: cheeses, sausages, smoked meats, convent sweets, jams, honey, cakes and more.
There will also be a bookshop specializing in cookery books, workshops and ateliers for those wishing to deepen their knowledge of the world of cooking.

Showcooking calendar
One of the key points of this event is the various daily showcookings, with the presence of renowned names in the culinary sector, namely:
- August 23, Elisabete Ferreira – Pão de Gimonde, Bragança
- August 24th, Paulo André – Rio by Paulo André and Douro by Paulo André
- August 25, Hugo de Sousa – Restaurante Esperança Verde, Braga
- August 26th, Artur Pinho – Momo Restaurant, Póvoa de Varzim
- August 27th, Hugo Rocha – Restaurante Oculto, Vila do Conde
- August 28th, Alina Abramiuc – Restaurante Casinha Velha, Leiria
- August 29th, Ricardo Lanção – Professor of the Hotel and Restaurant Management Course
- August 30th, Fábio Silva – Restaurante Memória, Porto

Other useful information
As mentioned above, the 25th edition of Cozinha à Portuguesa – Vila de Conde Gastronomy Fair takes place from August 22 to 31 in the Avenida Júlio Graça Gardens.
Admission is free and the event is open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3pm to midnight and on other days from 5pm to midnight. The restaurants are open at lunchtime, from 12pm to 2.30pm.
