When the summer and the vacation season, they are beginning to be in demand destinations to escape the routine and relax. Some people prefer a vacation in the city, others in the countryside. There are those who opt for hotels, local accommodation or private homes with a swimming pool others opt for camping sites.
Now, in order to satisfy the desires of those who want to connect with the nature we’ve put together a list of some suggestions in the Porto district, but also in the north of the country (and beyond). The order presented is random and intended only as a starting point for those who want to go camping but don’t yet know where.

In the district of Porto
1 – Angeiras
Without a doubt, this is one of the best campsites near Porto and the surrounding area, this park is equipped with everything! Campers can choose to put up a tent in the nature park or rent accommodation. It has a swimming pool, a mini-market and a restaurant and bar. What’s more, it’s opposite Angeiras beach.
Angeiras is also known for being a small fishing community, so the gastronomy is undoubtedly of high quality.

2 – Canidelo
Now, in Vila Nova de Gaia, is another of the campsites in and around Porto, this one very close to Afurada (where fish is king!), with accommodation, camping and caravanning options.
It is located on the seafront of Salgueiros beach and, like the others, offers all the equipment campers need to take care of everything without having to leave the park.

3 – Campidouro – Gondomar
Another of the campsites in and around Porto is in Gondomar, on the banks of the River Douro, which gives it a different but charming landscape.
It is equipped with everything campers need and is very close to Porto, for those who want to stroll around the city.

4 – Vila ChĂŁ
It’s in Vila do Conde, 300 meters from the beach, fun is guaranteed and it’s close to several major cities, so it’s central if you want to take the opportunity to wander around.
Vila ChĂŁ is a small fishing parish and is blessed with beautiful beacheswith very inviting walkways.

In the district of Braga
5 – GarfePark Camping
It is located in PĂłvoa do Lanhoso and is a rural campsite with a maximum capacity of 30 sites, whether tents or caravans. Pets allowed.

6 – Lima Escape Camping & Glamping
Located in the Peneda GerĂŞs National Park, this is a true haven of nature, perfect for breathing fresh air in one of the most beautiful landscapes in the country.
Here, there are glamorous tents, bungalows (in the style of tree houses), but there are also places for tents.

7 – Caminha
In the district of Viana do Castelo located near the border with Galicia, Caminha is one of the most popular areas, especially for those who love camping.
It sits in a pine forest and enjoys the breeze and air of the River Minho. Caminha also has beaches, so an escape to the sea is also within reach. In fact, the beach is only 200 meters from the park!

8 – Orbitur Vagueira
Situated close to the stunning Ria de Aveiro, this urban park, surrounded by pine forests, is just a few kilometers from Vagueira and invites you to spend relaxing periods with the family.
This Orbitur campsite has various facilities for adventurers, such as swimming pools, a playground, a restaurant, a snack bar and more.
