The bad weather that has been battering Portugal in recent days has led to the postponement of the Porto Carnival Parade. Initially, the event was scheduled for February 15 (Sunday). However, due to the current weather conditions, the organizers have decided to postpone it until February 22.
“Porto is not a place, it is a feeling.”

According to Batucada Radical – the country’s first Brazilian music group – last year’s traditional Porto Carnival Parade attracted more than 20,000 people, a scenario that raises expectations for 2026. But what can we expect from the parade?
Under the theme “Porto is not a place, it is a feeling” – a famous phrase by author Agustina Bessa-Luís – the Porto Carnival Parade is synonymous with rhythm, color, and energy. Among confetti and streamers, there will be no shortage of samba, forró, funk, and, of course, Portuguese music.
For those who don’t want to be left out
If weather conditions are favorable, the parade is scheduled to start on February 22, at 3 p.m. on Rua do Heroísmo, next to the old Stop Shopping Center, and end in Fontainhas around 5 p.m., where from 5:30 p.m. the entertainment will continue with several live DJs until 8 p.m. It should also be noted that the program includes a moment dedicated to the little ones with the Children’s Carnival at 1 p.m.
