The city of Porto now has a new, free-to-the-public cultural venue. Galeria do Cidade, located on the ground floor of Shopping Cidade do Porto, opened its doors with the photography exhibition “Rasgos de Alma,” by artist Sérgio Carvalho, known on Instagram as “Porto de Honra.”
The official opening of this art exhibition space took place on July 18, 2026, with the aim of bringing the work of local artists closer to the community.
Porto’s heritage in the spotlight
The inaugural collection focuses on the artist’s connection to the Luís I Bridge and Porto’s urban identity. Through a series of photographic works, the exhibition explores the region’s memory and architectural heritage. Visitors can view the exhibition free of charge through the end of September 2026, during the venue’s regular hours of operation.
According to the complex’s director, Marta Félix, the creation of this space aims to integrate artistic activities into the public’s daily life, establishing new points of contact with local culture in the heart of the city.
