In the city of Porto there are several galleries and museums where you can visit exhibitions. But how about enjoying an outdoor art installation?
“Giant Flowers” is the name of an initiative, promoted by Porto City Council (CMP), which aims to strengthen ties between the community and local businesses. If you don’t know about it yet, you can visit this piece of art in Largo Soares dos Reis until January 21st.
According to VIVA Porto magazine, which quotes the CMP, the art installation features six illuminated flowers, made with sustainable materials and LED lights, to ensure greater durability and cause less environmental impact.
Bringing local businesses closer to the community
Alongside the “Giant Flowers”, the initiative also includes a “passport game”. According to information on CMP’s official website:
“[It’s] an interactive challenge that invites visitors to explore the participating establishments and win a gift alluding to the theme of Giant Flowers.”
However, in order to win the exclusive gift, you need to collect four different stamps, awarded for each visit to one of the participating stores.
