Speaking openly about loss, without clichés and without rushing to “move on,” remains a real challenge even today. To demystify this topic, and following a first edition that exceeded expectations, the Festival of Grief returns to the city of Porto on May 16 .
Organized by Associação Compassio —a nonprofit organization dedicated to building more compassionate communities around experiences such as illness, aging, loneliness, and death—the Festival do Luto offers a broad and inclusive program for children, youth, and adults.
From conversations to artistic expression
With free admission, the 2nd edition of the Festival of Grief runs from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. The program promises to address grief through workshops, conversations, testimonials, listening stations, moments of self-care, and even artistic expression (music, poetry, and art).
The activities will be spread across five venues in Porto:
- Parish of Our Lady of the Conception
- Praça do Marquês
- Paula Frassinetti School of Education
- Marques da Silva Foundation
- Porto Polytechnic Culture Center.
