Attend a concert by candlelight
Candlelight concerts are already a constant presence on Porto’s cultural agenda, continuing to surprise with incredible musical repertoires, but also by staging the shows in emblematic places.
Before May is out, you’ll have the chance to attend another unforgettable Candlelight concert. This time at the monumental Palácio da Bolsa, on May 31, dedicated to the “Best of Rock”, at 21:30.
Kick off the music festival season
Porto’s music festival season kicks off with the North Festival, taking place from May 24 to 26. This year, for the first time, the event will be held in Serralves Park.
Some well-known national and international names have already been confirmed for the event, such as Nininho Vaz Maia, Nelly Furtado, Birdy and Keane, among others.
Go to the International Festival of Iberian Expression
For those who like theater, going to FITEI – International Festival of Theater of Iberian Expression might be a good idea.
The artistic event kicked off on May 15, but runs until May 26 (Sunday).

Experience the irreverence of the MXM Art Center

Enjoy Serralves em Festa
Serralves em Festa is already a classic on Porto’s cultural agenda. This year, the event takes place from May 31 to June 2.
All in all, a 50-hour cultural marathon awaits you, with lots of concerts, artistic performances, contemporary circus and activities for children. Admission is free.
Stroll through the gardens of Casa São Roque (and beyond)
Casa São Roque and the surrounding park are undoubtedly an option to consider for moments of leisure and relaxation. You can stroll around the gardens for free, but if you like art there are some exhibitions (for a fee) inside the house.
In addition, with the return of good weather, Casa São Roque’s agenda features, for example, the “São Roque Music” event , taking place on Sunday, May 26, at 12:00. Access is free, but pre-registration is required.
