If you’re a book lover anda fan of a world of endless stories, you don’t have to wait until summer to “dive” into a major literary festival. From April 10 to 19, the Florbela Espanca Municipal Library in Matosinhos once again takes center stage as the epicenter of “LeV” – Literature on the Move.
Heading into its 20th edition, “LeV” offers a wide-ranging program that brings together major figures from the national and international cultural scene. Gonçalo M. Tavares, Mia Couto, Valter Hugo Mãe, Miguel Carvalho, Hugo Van Der Ding, Salem Levy, and Jung Chang are among the featured figures.

At the Literatura em Viagem festival, the stories in the books and the lives of the authors take center stage in relaxed, free-to-the-public conversations . In addition, the program offers activities for all ages, including panel discussions, book presentations, and creative workshops for children.

Highlights of Literature on the Move
The program kicks off on Friday, April 10, with the thematic discussion “Cartographies of History” featuring British historian Peter Frankopan. But there are other highlights from beyond our borders, such as Icelandic author Yrsa Sigurðardóttir (a leading voice in Nordic thrillers), Chinese author Jung Chang, and French writer Patrick Deville, among others.
Also worth mentioning is the special live broadcast of the podcast “Convidado Extra,” hosted by journalist João Paulo Sacadura, which will feature renowned writers such as Mia Couto, José Eduardo Agualusa, and Tatiana Salem Levy, among other special moments.
It is also worth noting that children play a central role in the Literatura em Viagem program , with various sessions included in “LeVzinho,” which features story time, creative workshops, meetings with authors, and more.
