There are different ways to explore the city of Porto , whether through the “Porto Saudável” walks and the 16th Cultural Cemetery Tour, or through nighttime excursions to various green spaces as part of the municipal initiative “Bat Nights.”
As in previous years, the Porto City Council is once again promoting this program, which—although it has already begun—still offers several dates and opportunities to participate between July and August.
For anyone who has never seen or heard bats in Porto’s skies and green spaces, this is the perfect excuse to learn more about this species and discover some interesting facts. For example, did you know that a bat can eat between 1,000 and 3,000 insects per night?
During “Bat Nights,” you’ll have the opportunity to learn these and other interesting facts, as well as explore some of the most beautiful gardens by moonlight, such as the Crystal Palace Gardens and Virtudes Park.
The “Bat Nights” sessions

If you’re interested in participating in this initiative, please note that admission is free, though prior online registration is required before each session.
