It’s official! We’re counting down to the longest night of the year, the São João party in Porto. So get your little hammers ready, get some basil and arrange the ‘sardinhadas’ with your friends. But first, let’s get to know the program?
The official program for São João 2025 was announced this Wednesday, May 28, at Casa do Roseiral, by the Mayor of Porto, Rui Moreira. During the press conference, quoted by the newspaper ‘Observador’, all the ingredients for an intense party were shared.
This year, the Sanjoanina celebration will feature the “biggest fireworks ever”, on the night of June 23-24, in a pyrotechnic show divided between the Luís I and Arrábida bridges. 210,000 euros have been set aside for this moment alone, supported in equal parts by the municipalities of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia.
The main concerts of São João
According to information on the Porto municipality’s news portal, this year’s investment for the São João festivities is 780 thousand euros.
In addition, there will be plenty of entertainment for all tastes, with many concerts scheduled throughout the city. However, it’s worth highlighting the three main stages and their respective programming.

Other stages and performances at São João
As this is one of the most eagerly awaited moments for Porto residents and tourists, it is expected that the entertainment will extend to all parishes and parish unions.
In this context, from June 18 to 23, eight stages and the performance of dozens of artists are planned, with particular emphasis on the following:
- June 18, Augusto Canário, in Campanhã (Largo da Corujeira)
- June 20, Iran Costa, in Miragaia (Largo da Praia)
- June 21, Mónica Sintra, in Lordelo do Ouro (Largo António Cálem), among others
