We’re getting closer and closer to Christmas, and there’s already a date for the lights to be switched on in the city of Porto, so news and events are multiplying. However, the festive season is also synonymous with solidarity. In this context, there is a very special initiative – the Solidarity Christmas Fair, run by the Portuguese League Against Cancer ( LPCC) – Northern Regional Center.
Although the sale to the public started on November 21, the truth is that you can still visit the Solidarity Christmas Fair until November 29 (Friday). The initiative takes place in the Continued Care Building (floor -1) of the Portuguese Oncology Institute (IPO) in Porto.
Running every day from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., you can stop by to buy some presents and help out at the same time.
It should be noted that the funds raised go entirely to the LPCC, with the aim of helping to develop cancer prevention activities, as well as providing social and economic support to patients and their families.
According to the LPCC website, the event is open to anyone who wants to buy products at affordable prices, including clothing and footwear, school supplies, books, antiques, food, decorative items, among others.
The Solidarity Christmas Fair is organized annually by the Volunteers of the LPCC Regional Centre. All the products for sale were donated by companies, but also by private individuals.
