Children’s Day activities in and around Porto
1 – Visit the “Living Van Gogh” exhibition
To celebrate World Children’s Day in the best possible way, the immersive exhibition “Living Van Gogh” will be promoting special activities on Saturday, June 1, from 10h00 to 13h00.
The little ones will “meet” Vincent Van Gogh, played by actor João Gouveia, who will take them through the incredible world of one of the most famous painters of all time.
At the end, there’s also a human glory game, designed in partnership with Sociedade Ponto Verde. In addition, the children receive an ecobag and “Um Bongo” products.
But, of course, the highlight is the fact that children up to the age of 13 don’t pay admission, as long as they are accompanied by an adult (who buys an adult ticket and can take a maximum of three children).

If you’re looking for a fun and sporty activity for the younger members of the family, then this is an excellent opportunity. The Pony Club in Porto offers various experiences with ponies and horses.
Located in the Paranhos area, this can be an absolutely memorable moment for the children and, at the same time, you’re contributing to the cause of a Social Solidarity Association.

LEGO has the ability to grab the attention of kids and adults alike. So here’s another exhibition as a tip, but dedicated to the world of educational constructions.
The Porto Planetarium is hosting an official (and temporary) LEGO exhibition, with free admission, including various sets from the brand linked to the theme of Space. On Saturdays, opening hours are from 14:00 to 17:30.

4 – Contact with the animal world
As a rule, children love animals. That’s why it’s important that they have the opportunity to come into close contact with various species from an early age.
So, if you want to take the little ones to explore the best wildlife near Porto, all you have to do is explore our guide, which includes aquariums and zoos.
5 – Visiting interactive museums
The idea that museums are boring places is going out of fashion. After all, there are more and more museums on offer, including fun options for even the youngest visitors.
In Porto, there are several places that fit into this scenario, which is why we’ ve highlighted them, for example:
- O Neonia: a new interactive museum with 1500 m2 and 18 rooms, in a space enveloped by a retro-futuristic atmosphere;
- 3D Fun Art Museum: a three-dimensional museum, among others.
