So Far, So Near
To begin with, how about crossing the bridge to Vila Nova de Gaia? On the other side of the Douro, with a privileged view of the river and the two cities it embraces, there is a new space: O Tão Longe, Tão Perto.
Open since the summer, this wine bar serves wine directly from taps, a concept that was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and now finds a new home here.
Portuguese wines are the protagonists here, but there are also sausages from the Alentejo and cheeses from Serra da Estrela.
📍Rua do General Torres, 367, Vila Nova de Gaia
Genuíno
Genuíno is one of the best wine bars in Porto. It stands out for its vintage and informal décor, but also for the fact that it serves excellent natural wines from Portugal.
Now, generally speaking, we’re still not very used to natural wines here, so it’s worth giving them a try. The bar also offers dishes and snacks.
📍Rua de Miguel Bombarda, 78 R/C
Alibi The Wine Spot
In one of Baixa’s most emblematic streets, this space was born attached to the existing restaurant. Although small, it is a very attractivewine bar.
With more than 150 wine references, Alibi The Wine Spot includes some obvious choices and some not so obvious.
At the same time, you can choose some of the products on the menu, such as snacks, ceviche, cheese and sausage boards, among others.
📍Rua dos Caldeireiros, 135
Capela Incomum
It’s a wine bar and tapas restaurant and a very harmonious place to socialize. The name isn’t misleading: it really is a chapel, transformed into a wine bar and therefore unusual.
It is located in the historic center of Porto and offers a different and very special atmosphere for those who visit.
📍Travessa do Carregal, 77
Mind The Glass Bistrot
Mind The Glass opened relatively recently, but it’s already a winning bet for wine bars in Porto. Located in the heart of the city, the space stands out for its elegance and relaxation, but also for the more than 600 wine references available.
With a covered and heated terrace, this is an excellent option for enjoying a glass in the evening on a winter’ s day. Or for dinner in the company of friends, family or your better half.
📍Praça de Gomes Teixeira, 36
The Wine Box
It’s in the heart of Porto and has everything a wine lover would want: a wide selection of the best wines, good tapas to go with them and a very inviting decor.
It’s close to Ribeira and Rua das Flores, so it’s perfect for relaxing after a stroll around the city.
📍R. dos Mercadores, 72 74
La Bohème
In the Galerias de Paris, this is one of the most visited wine bars in Porto, both for its central location and for the huge selection of wines and tapas it offers.
The atmosphere is welcoming and conducive to tasting good wines.
📍 R. da Galeria de Paris, 40
Wine Quay Bar
Here you not only have good wines accompanied by the best snacks and tapas, but you are also facing the majestic Douro River and the Port Wine Cellars.
It is undoubtedly one of the wine bars that perfectly combines the ideal conditions for enjoying a glass of wine.
📍 Cais da Estiva, 111
Fortunately, these are just a few of the many that exist throughout the city of Porto. We also recommend a visit to Candelabro, Aduela, Portologia, Prova or, for example, Páteo das Flores.
If you like wine, we recommend a visit to a wine bar. They’re all excellent options!
