As Christmas approaches, the cultural agenda intensifies with various shows taking place in and around Porto. Plays, concerts and musicals, there are options for all tastes and ages. Youngsters in particular will love these suggestions. But we believe the rest of the family will too.
After all, musicals represent a very special kind of performance art, combining music , singing, dancing and, in some cases, ice skating. Inspired by great classics or more contemporary hits, from the Nutcracker to Tarzan, not forgetting the amusing characters of Madagascar, this is a journey into the world of fantasy.
Table Of Contents
“Alice in Wonderland”
Lewis Carroll’s timeless classic comes to life thanks to Paleta d’Emoções in the theatrical version of “Alice in Wonderland Musical”, which returns to Porto with a session open to the public on December 22 at the Grand Auditorium of the Vilar Oporto Hotel.
Despite being based on a classic, the plot is very contemporary, posing questions such as: “Is it possible to reconcile the technology of cell phones, tablets and other digital objects with books? Is there room for imagination in this digital society? How important is our appearance? What do we invest our time in?”
For 70 minutes, the characters try to find answers to these and other questions, which emerge from the challenges posed by an increasingly digital society where (dis)information boils over.
