In Portugal, Saint Patrick’s Day, or Dia de São Patrício, is not holiday or anything like that. However, the date that celebrates the Irish patron saint has also been gaining fame in Portugal. In fact, in Lisbon, for the first time, a parade full of bagpipes is planned.
Saint Patrick’s Day is celebrated annually on March 17, which in 2024 falls on a Sunday. So, on a day painted in shades of green, one of the greatest traditions is to enjoy craft beer. In this context, we have prepared a special tour of Porto (and beyond).
On the one hand, there are places where you can get to know the manufacturing process up close and still enjoy the best of the cultural offerings. On the other hand, there are places that really impress with the beauty of their interior gardens, like a kind of urban oasis.
Table Of Contents
Bierhaus Porto
In this first suggestion, you’ll be able to experience the revelry of Saint Patrick’s Day like few others. Bierhaus Porto now has a complement of warm snacks to make tasting craft beer even better.
The snacks are, as they say, simple and effective. On the menu there are bifanas (€4), cachorrinho (€4), BBQ chicken wings (€8) and even a Galician twist with Padrón peppers (€4.50).
During this weekend there is also a special promotion from March 15 to 17. What does this mean? When you buy a pint of Guinness, the historic Irish brand, you’re entitled to a second.
